UNCOVERING BIRTH CHILDBIRTH CLASSES IN BRUNSWICK, MAINE

Understand birth. Know your choices. Prepare together.

Birth asks you to move through intensity, uncertainty, and decisions. Understanding how it works ahead of time gives you and your partner a shared foundation for meeting it. Uncovering Birth explores the physiology of birth, the conditions that support it, and the choices you may face, always with both mother and baby in mind.

Taught by Kelly, PT, DPT, certified Uncovering Birth educator.

WHAT WE'LL EXPLORE

Childbirth education for mothers and the partners supporting them.

  • How birth unfolds, and the role of hormones, environment, and support

  • Your baby as an active participant in birth

  • Ways to meet intensity with movement, breath, and comfort

  • Common interventions: benefits, risks, and alternatives

  • Informed consent and making decisions that are truly yours

  • When birth takes an unexpected turn

  • The first hours and days with your baby

Partners aren't labor coaches.

A mother in labor often needs to turn inward. Her partner's role is to understand her, understand birth, know her rights and preferences, and protect her space and her decisions so she can do that.

Learning in community

Classes are small, with time for questions and connection with other families who are also preparing, relationships that often carry into postpartum.
